“It’s not easy raising three of the heaviest bands.” That’s a quote from a New Zealand mother who has named her three kids Metallica, Slayer and Pantera.
This is not a joke. Verified by fellow Kiwi and journalist David Farrier, who has vouched to having seen all three birth certificates, turns out naming your kids after a band or album is totally legit – as long as the name doesn’t cause offence.
Creative license in the naming of kids isn’t unusual in the music world. We all know the late Frank Zappa’s penchant for strange names (e.g., Dweezil, Moon Unit). It also isn’t the first time some metal-loving parents named their kids Metallica.
But to name all three kids after metal royalty? That’s pretty epic!
